Our Experience

With a busy household and two kids who seem to have a knack for finding mischief around every corner, I needed a reliable security camera that could keep an eye on things without breaking the bank. The Arlo Essential Security Camera seemed like a good fit.

The setup was surprisingly simple, even for someone like me who's tech-challenged. Just plug it in, download the app, and follow the prompts. It took less than 15 minutes to get both cameras up and running. I love that they're wireless too - no messy cords to trip over or hide.

The picture quality is crisp during the day, but at night, the spotlight kicks in and lights up my driveway like a floodlight. It's a bit brighter than I'd like for sleepy morning wake-ups, but it sure does keep things well-lit for anyone who might be lurking around.

The two-way audio has been handy too. I've lost count of how many times I've hollered "Please don't feed the cat treats!" when I saw one of my little ones sneaking a snack to our furry friend.

However, there's a slight delay between when something happens and when the camera records it. It's not noticeable for everyday stuff, but if you're expecting real-time footage, this might be a bit frustrating.

Overall, though, for $57.99 each, these cameras have been a great peace of mind addition to our home security. They're not perfect, but they sure are convenient and easy to use.
