Upgraded from my old Spot Gen3, I was blown away by how much smaller and lighter the Garmin inReach Mini 2 is - it barely weighs anything when clipped onto my backpack's shoulder strap. The colour display makes a world of difference compared to my old monochrome screen; even under direct sunlight, I could still see my messages clearly.
However, the mini keyboard takes some getting used to for those with larger fingers like me. It's easy enough once you get the hang of it, but I sometimes found myself having to backspace too many times when sending longer messages. Overall though, as a solo hiker who appreciates peace of mind while exploring off-grid, this upgrade was well worth it!
