Our Experience

We go through things quickly in our household, especially gadgets that my gaming-loving teenager puts through its paces. So when I spotted this GMKtec M5 Plus on sale, I thought it'd be worth a try as a compact yet powerful upgrade from his old laptop.

First off, the size of this mini PC surprised me – it's tiny! Yet, it packs quite the punch. I especially liked how we could connect it directly to our TV for big-screen gaming. The Ryzen 7 processor handled all the latest games smoothly, and the 32GB RAM ensured no lag time even when my son had multiple apps open.

My one critique? The fan can get a bit noisy under heavy use. It's not loud enough to disrupt conversation but could be distracting if you're trying to focus on something else nearby. Other than that, it's been a solid performer for the past few weeks. It's even doing double duty as our new media server now, with plenty of storage thanks to the 1TB SSD.

All in all, this little powerhouse has exceeded my expectations for its price point and size. We've had it now for about six weeks, and so far, no signs of slowing down or overheating – a testament to its build quality.
