I was skeptical at first when I bought "The Widow" by Fiona Barton. The price seemed too good to be true for a hardcover novel, and I'd heard mixed reviews about its plot. However, after reading it for almost a month, I'm glad I took the chance.

What I liked most was the unique narrative structure. Barton cleverly unfolds the story from multiple perspectives, keeping you guessing until the very end. This isn't your typical thriller where everything is wrapped up neatly; instead, she leaves some threads deliberately loose, which might frustrate some readers but added depth to my enjoyment.

One minor critique, though - the pacing could have been better in the middle section. It felt like it dragged a bit before picking up again towards the climax. Despite this, "The Widow" kept me engaged with its intriguing premise and unexpected twists. If you're looking for a thought-provoking thriller that doesn't follow the usual formula, give this one a shot.
