After meticulously researching numerous telephoto zoom lenses compatible with my Sony α7R IV, I settled on the Tamron 70-300mm Di III RXD after reading countless reviews and comparing specifications. Having used it daily for nearly a month now, I'm impressed with its versatility. The autofocus is remarkably swift and accurate, even in low light, thanks to Tamron's RXD stepping motor technology. This allowed me to capture sharp images of rapidly moving subjects like birds in flight without any noticeable lag.

However, there's one minor critique I've noticed: the lens' maximum aperture ranges from f/4.5 to f/6.3, which can make it challenging to maintain a fast shutter speed in low-light conditions when using higher focal lengths. This is particularly notable given its intended use for capturing distant subjects where depth of field might already be shallow. Nevertheless, with adequate planning and understanding of these limitations, the Tamron 70-300mm RXD continues to deliver excellent performance within its class.
